ARTEMIS is a project supported by a Consortium of 10 international organisations of the musical sector. It is dedicated to safeguard, transmit, and promote the practice of playing period instruments and to support young European and neighboring countries artists in the development of their European and international careers.
ARTEMIS is a 3 years project supported and funded by Creative Europe. During the period 2026-2028, over 10 training activities will be organised in 10 different countries, open to artists and professionals from all European and eligible neighboring countries.
The 10 partners of the project are : Orchestre des Champs-Elysées in Poitiers (France), Sorbonne University Hospital Group in Paris (France), Arte Music Academy in Nicosia (Cyprus), Higher Institute of Music of Tunis (Tunisia), Open Opera Ukraine in Kiev (Ukraine), “Great Amber” Concert Hall in Liepaja (Latvia), Eborae Musica in Evora (Portugal), Centro Kursaal in San Sebastian (Spain), FAMES in Skopje (North Macedonia) and Armenian Natinonal Opera and Ballet Theatre in Yerevan (Armenia).
The activity program is centered around 4 hubs and 4 artistic programs:
– 2026 Hub Mediterranean: The Mediterranean in Opera
– 2027 Hub Baltic: 1827–2027: Ludwig van Beethoven 200th
– 2027 Hub Atlantic: A New World with Dvořák
– 2028 Hub Eastern: French Opera in the 19th
The activity program includes musical training with musicians from Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, international conductors and singers, and experts on different relevant subjects (career management, lutherie, environmental practices, gender equality, health…)
We are looking for young and emerging professional musicians who are looking into:
– Developing their knowledge and practice of period instruments and techniques. The practice of period instruments is not mandatory (unless for wind players).
– Understanding their professional ecosystems (local and European) and develop their confidence in their career path
– Strengthening their skills in transversal subjects and gaining awareness to societal issues
– Meet and learn from other professional musicians from all over Europe and neighboring countries.
We are now launching the open call for the activities happening in 2026 in the Mediterranean Hub.
